Halloween 2017 Family Time and Picture Fest
Halloween 2017 has come and passed already! I don’t know why, but for some reason the time between Thanksgiving and Halloween felt like aaaaaaaaaaages to me, but then Halloween itself and the days since happened in a blur. Maybe it was because I was super excited to take Evelyn out this year. She had an adorable costume (a dragon) and she’s big enough this year that she could take part in some of the activities.
We had a blast! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we are so lucky to live where we do. It’s such a family oriented neighbourhood and there are always activities going on for kids. North Van Rec and Lynn Valley Mall put on a great afternoon for little kids. It started with a special story time at the library, followed by crafts, games, and science experiments, a haunted house for family pictures, and then trick or treating through the stores. It was the perfect way to spend the day with a little one. Here are some pictures.
Halloween 2017 – House Decorations
I love decorating for events, but while Evelyn is little I wanted to keep things fairly PG. So for Halloween 2017, we went for a more cartoony, kid-friendly look in our decorations.
Halloween 2017 – Activities with the Family
Halloween 2017 was the first year Evelyn really got to participate. We did take her out briefly last year, but it was more just to see things. This year, she is big enough to walk around and actually trick or treat which is awesome. She still doesn’t really have an idea about what’s going on, but she was patient with her costume and she loved seeing all the other kids too.
Since Halloween fell on a Tuesday this year, Glen was at work and couldn’t join us for the afternoon. My parents joined us for the afternoon though, which was really nice. Once Glen got home we took Evelyn out again visiting more friends and family, so there was a lot of Halloween to go around.
All in all it was a great Halloween and Evelyn was super excited. I can’t wait until next year when she starts to understand a little bit more about what’s going on!
